children's museum & miniature golf

Today we went to the Children's Museum with Bonnie and Isella. Riley loves that place...she could stay there all day! The Museum has a new miniature golf course on the top level so we thought the girls would like to do that. This was Riley's first time playing miniature golf! She had a lot of fun playing with Sadie and Maddie.

Ryan's New Ride

Last week we put Ryan is his new car seat for the first time. I think he really liked it! It's fun to have him facing forward now!

Here are some pictures from that day

"We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet"

President Gordon B. Hinckley

My mom called me tonight to tell me that President Hinckley had passed away. I was filled with many different emotions. At first I felt great sadness. I will miss this wonderful man so much. He was such an amazing example of Christlike love and service, and I loved his fun sense of humor! I am so sad, but at the same time I am so happy for him. I know that he has been reunited with his sweet wife, Marjorie. I love this gospel so much...it is so comforting to know that we can be with our families forever!

Thank you President Hinckley! We love you!

Slumber Party at the Hospital

Riley got pretty sick Thursday...she couldn't keep any food or water down. I took her to the doctor's office at around 1:30 and the doctor just said she had the stomach flu and to make sure to keep her hydrated. So we go home and Riley still couldn't keep anything down. I felt so bad for her. At around midnight we dropped Ryan off at a friends house and took Riley to the emergency room. They hooked her up to an IV and the doctors said that she would be there for at least two hours. Well, she ended up staying until Saturday afternoon. It was the saddest thing seeing her in the bed with the IV hooked up to her arm, but she was so brave and did such a good job.

The first night (Thursday) Casey stayed there with her and I came home and stayed here with Ryan. It was so weird to be in the house at night without Casey or Riley. The next morning Casey called and he told me that the doctor said Riley had to stay another day at the hospital. In the afternoon I took Ryan to go and see Riley. When I got there she was to excited to see him. Casey said that was the first time she really smiled since they had been in the hospital. It was so cute to see how much they missed each other.

After a couple hours Ryan got pretty tired so I took him home so he could take a nap. Casey called me around 6:00 (Friday night) and said that the doctor wanted Riley to stay another night. So I packed some things for Casey and took them over to him. Ryan started throwing up on the way to the hospital and we eventually decided that me and Ryan should stay the night in the hospital just in case we would need to take him to the ER. So our whole family had a big slumber party in Riley's room. It was a long night, but luckily Ryan didn't get quite as sick as Riley did. Finally, on Saturday afternoon, the doctor released Riley. We were so excited to be able to come home. Ryan is still sick, but we're hoping he'll feel better by tomorrow.

happy to see Ryan

Ryan can always make her smile!

Starting to feel better

**Thanks to all of you who helped us out and to those who called to make sure we were ok! You guys are great!**

The Purple Toy Store

We usually go to Toys R Us a few times a month, and Riley just calls it the toy store. Today we went to Babies R Us to pick up a few things. When Riley saw the Babies R Us sign, she recognized that it looked the same as the Toys R Us sign and she was all excited and said, "Yay! The purple toy store!". We thought that was pretty cute, but then after a minute she said "How wonderful!", in an English accent (she's been watching Peter Pan a lot lately). I couldn't stop laughing, it was the cutest thing I've heard in a long time!

We tried out some double jogging strollers. Ryan likes this one!

Leaving Omaha

So, I'm way excited that we are going to be moving back to Utah in May. It will be so nice to live closer to both of our families. BUT....I'm going to really miss living in Omaha.

Here are some things I'll miss about living in Omaha:
  • My friends
  • My house/Village Green
  • Being able to go to the zoo whenever we want (we've had so many fun memories there)
  • The Children's Museum
  • All the Malls
  • Card Night at the Village Green clubhouse
  • Volleyball on Wednesday nights
  • Being close to Worlds of Fun
  • Being close to Nauvoo and all the church sites
  • The beautiful scenery
  • Downtown Omaha and the Old Market
  • The furniture mart....but I won't miss it too much because when I move I can just go to Ikea
  • The Qwest Center events
  • Wheatfields
  • Music Time at the Village Green clubhouse
  • Hearing the Tornado sirens
  • Not having to worry about traffic
  • The crazy lightning storms
Here are some things that I won't miss about living in Omaha:
  • Being far away from my family
  • The awful humidity
  • Hearing the Tornado sirens
  • Being poor students (although, the "poor" part might not change for a while!)
  • Not being able to watch any BYU games
  • Chiggers! Eww

There's obviously a lot more things that I'll miss about living in Omaha than what I won't miss. Although it's been hard being so far away from family, I am so glad that we were able to spend three years in this wonderful place.

And I'm sure I'll add things to this list as I think of more!

☼My Little Sunbeam☼

I can't believe it, but Riley is now in Primary! To me, she still seems like my little baby girl. It's weird for me to think that she is old enough to be in the Primary. So today was her first day and I think she had a really good time! I peeked in on her a few times to see how she was doing, and each time she seemed to be having a lot of fun. Her teacher is Sister Cline and she does a great job with the kids. Today they talked about being a child of god. They made little crowns that were really cute and Riley was so happy to show me her crown that she made.
I was kind of nervous before church today...I didn't know how Riley was going to handle the transition from nursery to primary. I'm glad to say that my worries are gone. Sister Cline is so good with the kids...I don't think that any of them had a hard time with the transition. Now I'm just excited! Riley's a Sunbeam!

Ryan wants to be Sunbeam too!
